Harajuku Taproom brings the laid-back and truly enjoyable Japanese izakaya-style fare so well-loved in Tokyo to the LA and Culver City areas. We’re proud to be the first Japanese craft beer izakaya in town, and boast the widest selection of Japanese craft beer on tap outside of Japan with 21 beers and 1 sake on tap! Direct from Japan, we operate as a Taproom for Baird Brewing, maker of one of Japan’s favorite craft beers.

To complement our beer and sake on tap, our menu features grilled yakitori skewers, delicious gyoza, and a selection of specialty sushi rolls. The izakaya is a great place to hang out with friends and family, and we look forward to sharing our Japanese pub culture with you, welcoming you for a fun day of trying delicious Japanese craft beer and cuisine.

Our Story

After many years working and traveling in Japan, it’s been my dream to share my love of traditional izakaya food and culture here in Los Angeles. An izakaya offers a wide variety of small plate dishes, beer and sake, and a great casual atmosphere. A wonderful place to go out with family, friends, and colleagues, for a light snack or a delicious meal.

Through my friendship with Bryan and Sayuri Baird, co-founders of Baird Brewing Company in Shizuoka, Japan, I found the perfect opportunity to bring a unique izakaya experience to Culver City and Los Angeles

The original Harajuku Taproom in the Harajuku neighborhood of Tokyo provides diners with an intimate, cozy experience, where they can enjoy a variety of grilled skewers (kushiyaki), with an emphasis on fresh ingredients, prepared simply with minimal processing. Here in Culver City, we will carry on that tradition, taking advantage of the Southern California climate to provide a comfortable indoor/outdoor dining environment
